Georgia High School Basketball - Lamar County thwarts Upson-Lee

January 18, 2025: Thomaston, GA 30286

The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Lamar County Trojans (Barnesville, GA) and the host Upson-Lee Knights (Thomaston, GA), observed Lamar County's basketball team knock off Upson-Lee by a score of 56-39.

The Trojans (14-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Jasper County (Monticello, GA). The Hurricanes come into the A D1 Region 4 challenge with a 8-8 record. In their last challenge, Jasper County prevailed over Northeast (Macon, GA), 50-42, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Knights encounter the Trinity Christian Lions (Sharpsburg, GA) in a AAA Region 2 bout, on Tuesday, January 21. Upson-Lee will attempt to move on its 6-9 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 65-55 non-league loss to East Coweta (Sharpsburg, GA).
