The Heyworth Hornets (Heyworth, IL) basketball knocked off the host Tremont Turks (Tremont, IL), 71-60 in Thursday's non-league test.
The Hornets (14-7) will now prepare for their test against El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL). The Titans go into the Heart of Illinois test with a 9-10 record. In their last test, El Paso-Gridley went down by Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL), 55-42, in a non-league test.
The Turks now own a 13-8 record. They play next when they travel to Fieldcrest for a Heart of Illinois test on Tuesday, January 24. Tremont will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 48-44 non-league win over Eureka (Eureka, IL). The Knights record now stands at 16-6.
