Chatham Cougars (Chatham, NJ) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Sparta Spartans (Sparta, NJ), 69-68 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Chatham upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Cougars travel to Bridgewater-Raritan (Bridgewater, NJ) to clash with the Panthers in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 21. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-12. Bridgewater-Raritan lost 75-42 in their recent league bout against Gill St. Bernard's (Gladstone, NJ)

Next up, the Spartans clash with the Westfield Blue Devils (Westfield, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, January 21. Sparta will attempt to upgrade on its 9-3 season record. The Blue Devils go into the bout with a 10-3 record after their 56-29 non-league win over Cranford (Cranford, NJ).
