The Athenian Owls (Danville, CA) basketball nipped the visiting College Prep Cougars (Oakland, CA), 60-53 in Friday's league test.

The Owls (15-4) will now prepare for their test against Head-Royce (Oakland, CA). The Jayhawks go into the Bay Counties - East test with a 15-3 record. In their last test, Head-Royce got by Valley Christian (Dublin, CA), 97-27, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 9-6 record. They play next when they travel to Redwood Christian for a Bay Counties - East test on Tuesday, January 23. College Prep will encounter a Eagles squad coming off a 54-46 league loss to Bentley (Lafayette, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 5-13.
