Athenian Owls (Danville, CA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host College Prep Cougars (Oakland, CA), 52-37 in a league bout.

With the win, Athenian upgrades its record to 19-5 on the season. The Owls host International (San Francisco, CA) to clash with the Jaguars in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 3. The Jaguars go into the bout with a record of 19-5. International won 59-37 in their recent league bout against The Bay School (San Francisco, CA)

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Head-Royce Jayhawks (Oakland, CA) in a Bay Counties - East bout, on Tuesday, February 6. College Prep will attempt to upgrade on its 12-8 season record. The Jayhawks go into the bout with a 20-4 record after their 75-46 league win over Bentley (Lafayette, CA).
