Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS) and the host Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS), saw Laurel's basketball squad overcome Gautier by a tally of 47-37.

With the victory, Laurel improves its record to 10-10 on the campaign. The Golden Tornadoes travel to Wayne County (Waynesboro, MS) to confront the War Eagles in a 5A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The War Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 14-4.

Next up, the Gators confront the Vancleave Bulldogs (Vancleave, MS) in a 5A Region 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Gautier will attempt to improve on its 8-12 season record.
