Jesup J-Hawks (Jesup, IA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Union Knights (La Porte City, IA), 63-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Jesup upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The J-Hawks host Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Monday, January 22. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 2-9. Vinton-Shellsburg lost 62-34 in their recent non-league bout against Grinnell (Grinnell, IA)

Next up, the Knights play the Dike-New Hartford Wolverines (Dike, IA) in a North Iowa Cedar - East bout, on Saturday, January 20. Union will attempt to upgrade on its 9-4 season record. The Wolverines go into the bout with a 7-6 record after their 58-48 league loss to Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA).
