The Scott Central Rebels (Forest, MS) basketball nipped the visiting Lake Hornets (Lake, MS), 62-60 in Friday's league test.

The Rebels (11-8) will now prepare for their test against Clarkdale (Meridian, MS). The Bulldogs go into the 2A Region 5 test with a 9-12 record. In their last test, Clarkdale was tipped by Southeast Lauderdale (Meridian, MS), 72-47, in a non-league test.

The Hornets now own a 7-12 record. They play next when they travel to Newton for a 2A Region 5 outing on Monday, January 22. Lake will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 67-47 league win over Bay Springs (Bay Springs, MS). The Tigers record now stands at 15-6.
