The Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX) basketball crushed the host Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX), 79-46 in Friday's league test.

The Eagles (16-12) will now prepare for their test against Monterey (Lubbock, TX). The Plainsmen go into the 5A Region I District 4 test with a 25-5 record. In their last test, Monterey walloped Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX), 87-53, in a league test.

The Cougars now own a 11-17 record. They play next when they travel to Wylie for a 5A Region I District 4 test on Tuesday, January 23. Cooper will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 52-34 league win over Abilene (Abilene, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 17-10.
