Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Cooper Cougars (Abilene, TX), 43-34 in a league bout.
With the victory, Abilene upgrades its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Eagles host Monterey (Lubbock, TX) to encounter the Plainsmen in a 5A Region I District 4 test on Tuesday, December 19. The Plainsmen go into the test with a record of 15-5. Monterey won 61-55 in their recent league test against Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX)
The Cougars now own a 7-11 record. They play next when they host Wylie for a 5A Region I District 4 test on Tuesday, December 19. Cooper will encounter a Bulldogs squad coming off a 72-56 non-league win over Plainview (Plainview, TX). The Bulldogs record now stands at 11-6.
