Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Maple River Eagles (Mapleton, MN) and the host Richland Colts (Colfax, ND), saw Maple River's basketball squad wallop Richland by a tally of 75-49.

With the victory, Maple River improves its record to 22-10 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Blue Earth (Blue Earth, MN) to play the Buccaneers in a AA Section 2 challenge on Friday, January 19. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a record of 2-11. Blue Earth won 50-31 in their recent league challenge against Minnesota Valley Lutheran (New Ulm, MN)

Next up, the Colts play the Ellendale Cardinals (Ellendale, ND) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 20. Richland will attempt to improve on its 5-9 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 6-7 record after their 50-41 non-league loss to Leola/Frederick (Leola, SD).
