The Eagles now possess a 16-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Coronado for a 5A Region I District 4 battle on Friday, January 5. Abilene will confront a Mustangs team coming off a 63-51 league loss to Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 15-7.

The Westerners (6-16) will now prepare for their battle against Wylie (Abilene, TX). The Bulldogs come into the 5A Region I District 4 battle with a 11-11 record. In their last battle, Wylie trounced Monterey (Lubbock, TX), 60-41, in a league battle.
