Abilene Eagles (Abilene, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Lubbock Westerners (Lubbock, TX), 54-21 in a league bout.

With the victory, Abilene upgrades its record to 21-8 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Coronado (Lubbock, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Region I District 4 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 17-11. Coronado lost 57-56 in their recent league bout against Lubbock-Cooper (Lubbock, TX)

Next up, the Westerners play the Wylie Bulldogs (Abilene, TX) in a 5A Region I District 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Lubbock will attempt to upgrade on its 6-22 season record. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a 14-14 record after their 74-55 league loss to Monterey (Lubbock, TX).
