The Cumberland Academy Knights basketball team (Tyler, TX), was routed 70-44 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Athens Hornets (Athens, TX)
The Hornets now sport a 9-13 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Brownsboro for a 4A Region II District 16 battle on Friday, January 5. Athens will battle a Bears team coming off a 44-25 league loss to Mabank (Mabank, TX). The Bears record now stands at 11-11.
The Knights (3-13) will now prepare for their battle against Canton (Canton, TX). The Eagles come into the 4A Region II District 16 battle with a 10-11 record. In their last battle, Canton trounced Burleson (Burleson, TX), 38-37, in a non-league battle.
