The Cumberland Academy Knights basketball team (Tyler, TX), was nudged 72-66 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Athens Hornets (Athens, TX)

The Hornets now possess a 14-14 record. They put it on the line next when they host Brownsboro for a 4A Region II District 16 battle on Tuesday, January 30. Athens will confront a Bears team coming off a 52-41 league loss to Mabank (Mabank, TX). The Bears record now stands at 13-15.

The Knights (3-20) will now prepare for their battle against Canton (Canton, TX). The Eagles come into the 4A Region II District 16 battle with a 16-13 record. In their last battle, Canton was nudged by Athens (Athens, TX), 45-34, in a league battle.
