The Northwest Texans (Justin, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Azle Hornets (Azle, TX), 41-36 in Tuesday's league test.

The Texans (8-16) will now prepare for their test against Granbury (Granbury, TX). The Pirates go into the 5A Region I District 5 test with a 10-6 record. In their last test, Granbury got by Rider (Wichita Falls, TX), 68-51, in a league test.

The Hornets now own a 4-15 record. They play next when they host Saginaw for a 5A Region I District 5 test on Friday, January 5. Azle will encounter a Rough Riders squad coming off a 35-31 league win over Brewer (Fort Worth, TX). The Rough Riders record now stands at 18-5.
