Northwest Texans (Justin, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Azle Hornets (Azle, TX), 60-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Northwest upgrades its record to 9-21 on the season. The Texans host Granbury (Granbury, TX) to play the Pirates in a 5A Region I District 5 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Pirates go into the bout with a record of 14-8. Granbury won 77-61 in their recent league bout against Rider (Wichita Falls, TX)

Next up, the Hornets play the Saginaw Rough Riders (Saginaw, TX) in a 5A Region I District 5 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Azle will attempt to upgrade on its 4-21 season record. The Rough Riders go into the bout with a 22-7 record after their 41-38 league loss to Brewer (Fort Worth, TX).
