The Grand Prairie Gophers (Grand Prairie, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Bowie Volunteers (Arlington, TX), 59-56 in Tuesday's league test.

The Gophers (11-12) will now prepare for their test against South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX). The Warriors go into the 6A Region I District 8 test with a 18-5 record. In their last test, South Grand Prairie got by Sam Houston (Arlington, TX), 77-51, in a league test.

The Volunteers now own a 11-11 record. They play next when they host Arlington for a 6A Region I District 8 test on Friday, January 5. Bowie will encounter a Colts squad coming off a 78-71 league loss to Haltom (Haltom City, TX). The Colts record now stands at 4-14.
