Pieper Warriors (San Antonio, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Canyon Cougars (New Braunfels, TX), 69-62 in a league bout.

With the victory, Pieper upgrades its record to 15-6 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Boerne-Champion (Boerne, TX) to play the Chargers in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout on Friday, January 5. The Chargers come into the bout with a record of 19-3. Boerne-Champion won 61-56 in their recent league bout against Tivy (Kerrville, TX)

Next up, the Cougars play the Smithson Valley Rangers (Spring Branch, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 26 bout, on Friday, January 5. Canyon will attempt to upgrade on its 5-17 season record. The Rangers come into the bout with a 7-9 record after their 76-47 league loss to Veterans Memorial (San Antonio, TX).
