The El Campo Ricebirds basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host Navasota Rattlers to 42 in the Ricebirds league victory on Tuesday.

The Ricebirds now sport a 5-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Needville for a 4A Region IV District 25 contest on Friday, January 5. El Campo will battle a Bluejays team coming off a 58-50 league win over Wharton (Wharton, TX). The Bluejays record now stands at 13-4.

The Rattlers (11-7) will now prepare for their contest against Sealy (Sealy, TX). The Tigers come into the 4A Region IV District 25 contest with a 10-8 record. In their last contest, Sealy edged Bellville (Bellville, TX), 60-50, in a league contest.
