The Highland Baptist Christian Bears (New Iberia, LA) basketball knocked off the visiting Hanson Memorial Tigers (Franklin, LA), 49-38 in Tuesday's league test.

The Bears (6-9) will now prepare for their test against Vermilion Catholic (Abbeville, LA). The Eagles go into the 1A District 7 test with a 6-3 record. In their last test, Vermilion Catholic went down by Lake Arthur (Lake Arthur, LA), 56-47, in a non-league test.

The Tigers now own a 6-6 record. They play next when they travel to Covenant Christian Academy for a 1A District 7 test on Friday, January 5. Hanson Memorial will encounter a Lions squad coming off a 60-53 league loss to Central Catholic (Morgan City, LA). The Lions record now stands at 7-4.
