The Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA) basketball nipped the visiting Lake Washington Kangaroos (Kirkland, WA), 63-59 in Tuesday's league test.

The Islanders (8-3) will now prepare for their test against Bellevue (Bellevue, WA). The Wolverines go into the 3A KingCo test with a 7-2 record.

The Kangaroos now own a 7-6 record. They play next when they travel to Liberty for a 3A KingCo test on Friday, January 5. Lake Washington will encounter a Patriots squad coming off a 64-38 league win over Interlake (Bellevue, WA). The Patriots record now stands at 8-3.
