Texas High School Basketball - Pioneer topples Vela

In Tuesday's league outing, the Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) basketball squad beat the host Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX), by a margin of 55-43.

The Diamondbacks (17-8) will now prepare for their outing against Sharyland (Mission, TX). The Rattlers go into the 5A Region IV District 31 outing with a 4-17 record. In their last outing, Sharyland was beaten by McAllen (McAllen, TX), 45-30, in a league outing.

The Sabercats now own a 21-4 record. They play next when they travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial for a 5A Region IV District 31 outing on Friday, January 5. Vela will clash with a Wolverines squad coming off a 59-45 league loss to McAllen Memorial (McAllen, TX). The Wolverines record now stands at 3-13.
