Texas High School Basketball - Pioneer can't hold off Vela

The Pioneer Diamondbacks basketball team (Mission, TX), was nudged 41-37 in Saturday's non-league battle with the visiting Vela Sabercats (Edinburg, TX)

The Sabercats now sport a 14-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Southwest for a 5A Region IV District 31 outing on Tuesday, December 5. Vela will clash with a Javelinas squad coming off a 86-21 non-league loss to Rio Hondo (Rio Hondo, TX). The Javelinas record now stands at 1-5.

The Diamondbacks now hold a 8-8 record. They play next when they travel to Valley View for a 5A Region IV District 31 outing on Tuesday, December 5. Pioneer will clash with a Tigers squad coming off a 34-13 non-league loss to Freer (Freer, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 0-6.
