With the victory, Sulphur Bluff upgrades its record to 8-14 on the campaign. The Bears host Avery (Avery, TX) to play the Bulldogs in a 1A Region III District 24 bout on Friday, January 5. The Bulldogs come into the bout with a record of 2-11.

Next up, the Owls play the Saltillo Lions (Saltillo, TX) in a 1A Region III District 24 bout, on Friday, January 5. Yantis will attempt to upgrade on its 0-12 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 17-7 record after their 38-31 league loss to Bloomburg (Bloomburg, TX).
