New Boston Lions (New Boston, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting De Kalb Bears (De Kalb, TX), 62-49 in a league bout.

With the win, New Boston upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The Lions travel to Pewitt (Omaha, TX) to play the Brahmas in a 3A Region II District 14 bout on Friday, January 27. The Brahmas go into the bout with a record of 2-23. Pewitt lost 68-34 in their recent league bout against De Kalb (De Kalb, TX)

Next up, the Bears play the Pewitt Brahmas (Omaha, TX) in a 3A Region II District 14 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. De Kalb will attempt to upgrade on its 9-5 season record. The Brahmas go into the bout with a 2-22 record after their 52-45 league loss to Redwater (Redwater, TX).
