De Kalb Bears (De Kalb, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting New Boston Lions (New Boston, TX), 56-35 in a league bout.

With the win, De Kalb upgrades its record to 12-7 on the season. The Bears host Redwater (Redwater, TX) to play the Dragons in a 3A Region II District 14 bout on Friday, February 17. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 14-19. Redwater won 73-57 in their recent league bout against Pewitt (Omaha, TX)

Next up, the Lions play the Mineola Yellowjackets (Mineola, TX) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 20. New Boston will attempt to upgrade on its 11-12 season record. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a 21-9 record after their 64-58 league win over Harmony (Big Sandy, TX).
