The Rock Island Rocks basketball team scored 78 points and held the host Geneseo Maple Leafs to 50 in the Rocks league triumph on Friday.
The Rocks now sport a 15-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lincoln for a non-league contest on Saturday, January 21. Rock Island will battle a Railsplitters team coming off a 58-53 non-league win over Bloomington (Bloomington, IL). The Railsplitters record now stands at 15-4.
The Maple Leafs (0-17) will now prepare for their contest against Moline (Moline, IL). The Maroons enter the Western Big 6 contest with a 19-3 record. In their last contest, Moline was routed by Simeon (Chicago, IL), 67-66, in a non-league contest.
