Jarrell Cougars (Jarrell, TX) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Lampasas Badgers (Lampasas, TX), 59-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Jarrell upgrades its record to 14-9 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Gateway College Preparatory (Georgetown, TX) to play the Gators in a 4A Region III District 24 bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Gators come into the bout with a record of 12-15. Gateway College Preparatory won 59-42 in their recent league battle against Marble Falls (Marble Falls, TX)

The Badgers (11-15) will now prepare for their battle against Lago Vista (Lago Vista, TX). The Vikings come into the 4A Region III District 24 battle with a 9-19 record. In their last battle, Lago Vista was toppled by Burnet (Burnet, TX), 42-28, in a league battle.
