The North Reading Hornets basketball team scored 50 points and held the host Lynnfield Pioneers to 49 in the Hornets league triumph on Friday.

The Hornets now sport a 7-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Rockport for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. North Reading will play a Vikings squad coming off a 82-47 league loss to Georgetown (Georgetown, MA). The Vikings record now stands at 3-8.

Next up, the Pioneers play the Manchester Essex Hornets (Manchester, MA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Lynnfield will attempt to upgrade on its 7-4 season record. The Hornets go into the bout with a 10-1 record after their 60-38 non-league win over Hamilton-Wenham Regional (South Hamilton, MA).
