Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Thomas Jefferson Gryphons (Mooresboro, NC) and the host Cherryville Ironmen (Cherryville, NC), saw Thomas Jefferson's basketball squad overcome Cherryville by a tally of 55-42.

With the victory, Thomas Jefferson improves its record to 11-5 on the campaign. The Gryphons host Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC) to confront the Yellow Jackets in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Yellow Jackets come into the challenge with a record of 12-5. Bessemer City lost 50-38 in their recent league challenge against Shelby (Shelby, NC)

Next up, the Ironmen confront the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 40 challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Cherryville will attempt to improve on its 3-15 season record. The Golden Lions come into the challenge with a 14-1 record after their 68-46 league win over Burns (Lawndale, NC).
