Virginia High School Basketball - Fairfax can't hold off West Springfield

The West Springfield Spartans basketball team scored 27 points and held the visiting Fairfax Lions to 25 in the Spartans league triumph on Friday.
The Spartans now sport a 11-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lake Braddock for a District 4 contest on Tuesday, January 24. West Springfield will battle a Bruins team coming off a 66-59 league loss to West Potomac (Alexandria, VA). The Bruins record now stands at 6-10.
The Lions (4-10) will now prepare for their contest against Woodson (Fairfax, VA). The Cavaliers enter the District 4 contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Woodson was nudged by Robinson (Fairfax, VA), 47-33, in a league contest.
