Wardlaw Academy Patriots (Johnston, SC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Laurens Academy Crusaders (Laurens, SC), 42-28 in a league bout.

With the win, Wardlaw Academy upgrades its record to 10-3 on the season. The Patriots host Richard Winn Academy (Winnsboro, SC) to clash with the Eagles in a SCISA A Region IV bout on Monday, January 23. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 5-6. Richard Winn Academy won 41-14 in their recent league bout against Newberry Academy (Newberry, SC)

Next up, the Crusaders clash with the Greenwood Christian Hawks (Greenwood, SC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Laurens Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 11-8 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 13-1 record after their 40-32 league loss to First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest (Greenville, SC).
