The McMichael Phoenix basketball team scored 29 points and held the host West Stokes Wildcats to 16 in the Phoenix league triumph on Friday.

The Phoenix now sport a 10-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carlisle for a non-league contest on Wednesday, January 25. McMichael will battle a Chiefs team coming off a 61-33 non-league win over Southwest Virginia Academy (Roanoke, VA). The Chiefs record now stands at 12-3.

The Wildcats (4-14) will now prepare for their contest against Morehead (Eden, NC). The Panthers enter the 2A Conference 34 contest with a 4-11 record. In their last contest, Morehead was defeated by North Forsyth (Winston-Salem, NC), 34-22, in a league contest.
