Quemado Eagles (Quemado, NM) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers (Las Cruces, NM), 52-33 in a league bout.

With the win, Quemado upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Eagles host Cliff (Cliff, NM) to clash with the Cowboys/Cowgirls in a A District 2 bout on Saturday, January 21. The Cowboys/Cowgirls go into the bout with a record of 13-2. Cliff won 55-53 in their recent league bout against Animas (Animas, NM)

Next up, the SonBlazers clash with the Magdalena Steers (Magdalena, NM) in a A District 2 bout, on Saturday, January 21. Mesilla Valley Christian School will attempt to upgrade on its 5-9 season record. The Steers go into the bout with a 11-7 record after their 62-51 league loss to Reserve (Reserve, NM).
