Georgia High School Basketball - Crisp County can't hold off Columbus

The Crisp County Cougars basketball team (Cordele, GA), was nudged 45-39 in Saturday's league battle with the host Columbus Blue Devils (Columbus, GA)

The Blue Devils now sport a 7-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monroe for a AAA Region 1 battle on Tuesday, January 23. Columbus will battle a Golden Tornadoes team coming off a 76-65 league loss to Carver (Columbus, GA). The Golden Tornadoes record now stands at 12-7.

The Cougars (2-14) will now prepare for their battle against Wilcox County (Rochelle, GA). The Patriots come into the non-league battle with a 15-2 record. In their last battle, Wilcox County edged Hawkinsville (Hawkinsville, GA), 44-29, in a league battle.
