Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Wayne County Yellow Jackets (Jesup, GA) and the visiting McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers (Darien, GA), witnessed Wayne County's basketball squad topple McIntosh County Academy by a margin of 38-21.
The Yellow Jackets (13-4) will now prepare for their test against Burke County (Waynesboro, GA). The Bears go into the AAAA Region 3 test with a 10-8 record. In their last test, Burke County went down by Jenkins County (Millen, GA), 41-37, in a non-league test.
The Buccaneers now own a 1-12 record. They play next when they host Jenkins County for a A D2 Region 3 test on Friday, January 26. McIntosh County Academy will encounter a War Eagles squad coming off a 41-37 non-league win over Burke County (Waynesboro, GA). The War Eagles record now stands at 7-9.
