Council Lumberjacks (Council, ID) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Garden Valley Wolverines (Garden Valley, ID), 83-76 in a league bout.

With the win, Council upgrades its record to 11-4 on the season. The Lumberjacks host Meadows Valley (New Meadows, ID) to clash with the Mountaineers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 27. The Mountaineers go into the bout with a record of 1-8.

Next up, the Wolverines clash with the Horseshoe Bend Mustangs (Horseshoe Bend, ID) in a 1A Long Pin bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Garden Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Mustangs go into the bout with a 9-6 record after their 50-36 league win over Tri-Valley (Cambridge, ID).
