Manzano Monarchs (Albuquerque, NM) backers were pleased Saturday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Rio Grande Ravens (Albuquerque, NM), 55-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, Manzano upgrades its record to 7-11 on the campaign. The Monarchs host Santa Fe (Santa Fe, NM) to play the Demons in a 5A District 5 bout on Wednesday, January 25. The Demons come into the bout with a record of 11-7. Santa Fe won 58-54 in their recent league bout against Los Lunas (Los Lunas, NM)

Next up, the Ravens play the Cibola Cougars (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 23. Rio Grande will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Cougars come into the bout with a 3-16 record after their 69-32 league loss to Volcano Vista (Albuquerque, NM).
