The Mescalero Apache Chiefs basketball team (Mescalero, NM), dropped 58-42 in Saturday's league battle with the host Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM)
The Mavericks now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cloudcroft for a 2A District 3 battle on Thursday, January 26. Lordsburg will battle a Bears team coming off a 60-14 league loss to Capitan (Capitan, NM). The Bears record now stands at 3-12.
The Chiefs (12-6) will now prepare for their battle against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM). The Wildcats come into the 2A District 3 battle with a 8-8 record. In their last battle, Tularosa prevailed over Hot Springs (Truth or Consequences, NM), 48-22, in a non-league battle.
