In Saturday's league outing, the Mescalero Apache Chiefs (Mescalero, NM) basketball squad beat the visiting Lordsburg Mavericks (Lordsburg, NM), by a margin of 49-39.
The Chiefs (15-7) will now prepare for their outing against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM). The Wildcats go into the 2A District 3 outing with a 10-10 record. In their last outing, Tularosa defeated Cloudcroft (Cloudcroft, NM), 61-27, in a league outing.
The Mavericks now own a 10-9 record. They play next when they travel to Animas for a non-league outing on Monday, February 6. Lordsburg will clash with a Panthers squad coming off a 44-34 league loss to Cliff (Cliff, NM). The Panthers record now stands at 13-7.
