In Tuesday's league contest, the host Grand Prairie Gophers basketball team scored a good 48-32 triumph over the Bowie Volunteers.

The Gophers (13-9) will now prepare for their contest against Martin (Arlington, TX). The Warriors go into the 6A Region I District 8 contest with a 17-12 record. In their last contest, Martin topped Lamar (Arlington, TX), 64-46, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Volunteers confront the Sam Houston Texans (Arlington, TX) in a 6A Region I District 8 contest, on Friday, January 24. Bowie will attempt to better on its 16-10 season record. The Texans go into the contest with a 9-17 record after their 71-35 league loss to South Grand Prairie (Grand Prairie, TX).
