California High School Basketball - Monte Vista holds off Helix

January 21, 2025: Spring Valley, CA 91977

The Monte Vista Monarchs basketball team scored 73 points and limited the visiting Helix Highlanders to 70 in the Monarchs league triumph on Tuesday.

The Monarchs now possess a 13-9 record. They play next when they travel to Olympian for a non-league game on Friday, January 24. Monte Vista will confront a Eagles team coming off a 65-44 league win over Eastlake (Chula Vista, CA). The Eagles record now stands at 17-2.

With the loss, Helix falls to 6-15 on the campaign. The Highlanders travel to Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, CA) to confront the Cougars in a Grossmont - Valley game on Friday, January 24. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 11-9. Steele Canyon won 61-54 in their recent league game against El Capitan (Lakeside, CA)
