The Trojans (11-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Clarksdale (Clarksdale, MS). The Wildcats come into the 5A Region 1 challenge with a 10-12 record. In their last challenge, Clarksdale edged Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS), 69-66, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Commodores encounter the West Point Green Wave (West Point, MS) in a 5A Region 1 challenge, on Friday, January 24. Lafayette will attempt to improve on its 9-11 season record. The Green Wave come into the challenge with a 5-15 record after their 53-44 league loss to Corinth (Corinth, MS).
