The Wakeland Wolverines basketball team scored 64 points and limited the visiting Newman Smith Trojans to 33 in the Wolverines league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wolverines now possess a 18-9 record. They play next when they travel to Highland Park for a 5A Region II District 12 game on Friday, January 24. Wakeland will confront a Scots team coming off a 86-46 league win over Turner (Carrollton, TX). The Scots record now stands at 19-4.

With the loss, Newman Smith falls to 6-17 on the campaign. The Trojans host The Colony (The Colony, TX) to confront the Cougars in a 5A Region II District 12 game on Friday, January 24. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 18-10. The Colony won 82-73 in their recent league game against Reedy (Frisco, TX)
