The Wakeland Wolverines basketball team scored 57 points and limited the host Newman Smith Trojans to 46 in the Wolverines league triumph on Tuesday.

The Wolverines now have a 11-5 record. They play next when they host Highland Park for a 5A Region II District 12 game on Friday, December 20. Wakeland will confront a Scots team coming off a 80-60 non-league win over Randall (Amarillo, TX). The Scots record now stands at 12-3.

With the loss, Newman Smith falls to 2-10 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to The Colony (The Colony, TX) to confront the Cougars in a 5A Region II District 12 game on Friday, December 20. The Cougars go into the game with a record of 10-7. The Colony won 54-49 in their recent league game against Reedy (Frisco, TX)
