The Butler Golden Tornado basketball team scored 70 points and held the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans to 52 in the Golden Tornado non-league triumph on Monday.

The Golden Tornado now sport a 13-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hampton for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 23. Butler will battle a Talbots team coming off a 61-22 league win over Greensburg Salem (Greensburg, PA). The Talbots record now stands at 12-2.

The Spartans (3-13) will now prepare for their contest against Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA). The Rams enter the non-league contest with a 6-7 record. In their last contest, Pine-Richland was defeated by Butler (Butler, PA), 64-47, in a league contest.
