The Butler Golden Tornado basketball team scored 70 points and restricted the visiting Hempfield Area Spartans to 52 in the Golden Tornado non-league victory on Monday.

The Golden Tornado now sport a 13-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hampton for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 23. Butler will meet a Talbots team coming off a 61-22 league win over Greensburg Salem (Greensburg, PA). The Talbots record now stands at 12-2.

With the defeat, Hempfield Area moves to 3-13 on the year. The Spartans host Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA) to meet the Rams in a non-league match on Tuesday, January 23. The Rams enter the match with a record of 6-7. Pine-Richland lost 64-47 in their recent league match against Butler (Butler, PA)
