The Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds (Winthrop, MN) basketball nipped the visiting Sleepy Eye Indians (Sleepy Eye, MN), 57-51 in Monday's league test.
The Thunderbirds (8-7) will now prepare for their test against Cedar Mountain (Morgan, MN). The Cougars go into the A Section 2 test with a 8-7 record. In their last test, Cedar Mountain was tipped by Springfield (Springfield, MN), 67-57, in a league test.
The Indians now own a 12-3 record. They play next when they travel to St. Mary's for a A Section 2 test on Thursday, January 25. Sleepy Eye will encounter a Knights squad coming off a 82-68 league win over Wabasso (Wabasso, MN). The Knights record now stands at 13-4.
