The Grant Union Prospectors (John Day, OR) basketball crushed the host Weston-McEwen TigerScots (Athena, OR), 81-56 in Monday's league test.
The Prospectors (12-5) will now prepare for their test against Prairie City/Burnt River (Prairie City, OR). The go into the non-league test with a 8-9 record. In their last test, Prairie City/Burnt River walloped Four Rivers (Ontario, OR), 64-33, in a non-league test.
The TigerScots now own a 8-11 record. They play next when they travel to Heppner for a 2A Blue Mountain test on Thursday, January 25. Weston-McEwen will encounter a Mustangs squad coming off a 70-52 league loss to Stanfield (Stanfield, OR). The Mustangs record now stands at 10-9.
